Sony has released firmware version 1.03 to address several issues related to video recording on the Sony a6700. This includes problems with timecodes and recording.
It was a camera that would be released in July 2023 for Sony’s Alpha ILCE line of more affordable APS-C cameras. The a6700 is similar to Sony’s still-affordable a6400 but also the direct successor of the a6600. It incorporates features from Sony’s premium, a7IV model.
This model is very robust considering its low cost and compact size. The camera has a 26MP Exmor image sensor, and Sony’s BIONZ Image Processing Engine.
The a6700 is capable of shooting video in a variety of resolutions, including 4K UHD video at 120fps or 1080p at 240fps. The a6700 can capture still images at speeds up to 11fps.
The AF of the a6700, not only is it extremely fast, but also has 759 Phase Detection Points spread across the sensor area. The a6700 also has a S-Log 3 curve, and supports custom LUTs.
The a6700 is a powerful camera, and it’s one of Sony’s most affordable mirrorless cameras.
Sony was alerted to a few minor problems with the video recording and timecode functions by user feedback and internal product reviews.
