Panasonic released firmware updates for the two cameras to improve shooting, camera performance, and photo and video sharing.
The S5 IIX can be upgraded to version 2.0 with the update, while the S5 III is updated to version 3.0. The downloads will be available from April 21.
These updates will improve the shooting performance of both Lumix cameras by enabling Real-time AF for a variety of objects, including cars, motorcycles, and animal eyes.
The new AF sensors will improve AF detection of human subjects, and also provide better consistency when shooting multiple subjects at once.
A new High mode will also be available, which corrects for heavy shakes during the shooting process. It should be useful for users who take photos while on the move.
Video will have perspective distortion correction that corrects the distortion that occurs during wide-angle video recording.
Panasonic claims that this combination of Active I.S. technology and E-Stabilization will enhance the quality of E-Stabilization. technology.
This firmware will also bring about a number of improvements to the S5 II , S5 III, and S5 IIIX. The camera will start recording bursts of images even before the user has fully pressed the shutter.
