Canon Opens Up RF Mount to Tamron and Sigma for Lens Production
Canon used to be very closed-off from third-party lens makers creating compatible optics with its cameras.
Canon has now officially sanctioned new lenses from both Tamron and Sigma that are compatible with Canon’s popular RF mount cameras.
Apparently, both Tamron, and Sigma, were negotiating at the same time. As a result, they both announced their upcoming support of RF.
Sigma will release six “contemporary lenses” that it already offers for other camera brands , such as Sony, which are more flexible and third-party compatible.
